2020 NFL Mock Draft

2020 NFL Mock Draft

There are only a couple weeks left until the draft so here is my full first round mock draft:

  1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, Quarterback

No brainer, he is the savior Cincinnati is looking for. While having arguably the best season in college football history, Joe showed he is ready to become an NFL quarterback.

  2. Washington Redskins: Chase Young, Edge

With reports coming out about the Redskins eyeing Tua, it would be a huge mistake passing on the draft’s best edge rusher. Also a no brainer.

  3. TRADE: Detroit Lions trade pick to

    Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, Quarterback

While Miami is hearing about teams wanting to trade up for Tua, they pull the trigger first to get their franchise quarterback. There are questions surrounding his health but the reports on his hip and ankle look good.

  4. New York Giants: Mekhi Betcon, Offensive Tackle

This isn’t the sexy pick with Okudah or Simmons but the Giants need to be able to protect Daniel Jones. Here they select one of the most athletic tackles and arguably the best left tackle.

  5. Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah, Cornerback

With Darius Slay now in Philly, the Lions need to fill a hole at cornerback so why not take the best corner in the draft.

  6. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, Quarterback

Cam Newton is still a free agent at this time but it’s not looking like the Chargers have intentions of signing him. So here they take a Justin Herbert, a quarterback to sit behind Tyrod or take his job.

  7. Carolina Panthers: Isaiah Simmons, Linebacker

Carolina has too many holes on defense. Simmons can play every position. Simmons, meet Panthers. Panthers, meet Simmons.

  8. Arizona Cardinals: Jedrick Willis Jr., Offensive Tackle

It looked like Arizona would take a receiver here until they pulled off the finesse of the offseason by getting DeAndre Hopkins for David Johnson and a late pick. So here they take a tackle to play opposite of DJ Humphries.

  9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Derrick Brown, Defensive Tackle

I have no clue what direction Jacksonville is heading although it seems like they put their trust in Gardner Minshew. So here they take the best available defensive player.

  10. Cleveland Browns: Andrew Thomas, Offensive Tackle

The Browns had a great offseason last year and disappointed. They have all the weapons but they need to protect Baker so here they take one of the best tackles available.

  11. New York Jets: Jerry Jeudy, Wide Receiver

The Jets lost Robby Anderson to Carolina so here they reload on the best route runner in the draft to give Sam Darnold some help.

  12. Las Vegas Raiders: CeeDee Lamb, Wide Receiver

The Raiders had a sneaky good year considering their expectations last offseason but you can never have too many weapons for whatever quarterback is going to start. Here they take the YAC monster.

  13. San Francisco 49ers: Henry Ruggs III, Wide Receiver

San Fran lost Buckner to acquire this pick but they have depth on their defensive line so here they take a receiver to replace Emmanuel Sanders, another key loss this offseason. Ruggs will give the 49ers even more speed.

  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Khristian Fulton, Cornerback

I cannot tell you who the corners are on the Buccaneers defense other than Jamel Dean so the Bucs gamble on Fulton, a corner who excelled in man coverage this past season.

  15. Denver Broncos: Tristan Wirfs, Offensive Tackle

Tristan Wirfs is one of the best tackles in the draft. With the receiver class being deep, they can hold off on getting weapons for Drew Lock so here they take the tackle of the future.

  16. Atlanta Falcons: C.J. Henderson, Cornerback

Desmond Trufant is no longer a Falcon so they need another corner opposite of where Kendall Sheffield will play. CJ Henderson has potential to be one of the best in his class.

  17. Dallas Cowboys: K'Lavon Chaisson, Edge

Even though the Cowboys recently signed Aldon Smith, we have no idea how that will work out so here they take an edge with super potential. Chaisson may be a little raw but his ceiling his high.

  18. Miami Dolphins: Javon Kinlaw, Defensive Tackle

Miami can help build their defense now they have their franchise quarterback. Kinlaw can provide an instant impact in the run defense but also provide pass rush.

  19. Las Vegas Raiders: Jordan Love, Quarterback

Even though they signed Marcus Mariota, I don’t think Gruden is sold on Mariota or Carr so here they take their future franchise quartrback, someone who has been compared to Patrick Mahomes. With the job up in the air, Love can come in and compete for it.

  20. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevon Diggs, Cornerback

Aj Bouye and Jalen Ramsey no longer in Jacksonville while also failing to agree to terms with Darqueze Dennard, Jacksonville needs a corner.

  21. Philadelphia Eagles: Tee Higgins, Wide Receiver

Alshon Jefferey might be on his way out the door but Carson still needs weapons so the Eagles take a big body receiver in Higgins.

  22. Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson, Wide Receiver

The loss of Steffon Diggs is going to hurt more than people think because his route running demanded a lot of attention, however, they can try to replace him with one of best receivers in college football last year.

  23. New England Patriots: A.J. Epenesa, Edge

A power rusher off the edge who can play the run well would fit well into Bill’s defense. Highly regarded as one of the best edge rushers in the draft, AJ would fit nicely here.

  24. New Orleans Saints: Patrick Queen, Linebacker

Minus Demario Davis, I can’t name the linebackers on the Saints roster. They take the player not too far down the road who had a pretty productive year at LSU with 85 tackles.

  25. Minnesota Vikings: Jeff Gladney, Cornerback

Losing Mackensie Alexander and Xavier Rhodes in the same offseason won’t help their defense at all but taking Gladney here will bring a quick corner who excels at man to man. He could come in and start right away.

  26. Miami Dolphins: Austin Jackson, Offensive Tackle

Miami should look to protecting their new franchise quarterback, so here they take Austin Jackson, a tackle who could replace the loss of Laremy Tunsil.

  27. Seattle Seahawks: Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge

Nobody knows what Jadaveon Clowney is doing this offseason. He may return to the Seahawks but reports are saying it’s a slim chance he will return. With the loss of Frank Clark last season and maybe losing Jadaveon this season, Seattle needs to take an edge here.

  28. Baltimore Ravens: Kenneth Murray, Linebacker

Baltimore needs an upgrade at linebacker so taking Murray will bring more speed and physicality to that defense.

  29. Tennessee Titans: Ross Blacklock, Defensive Tackle

The loss of Jurell Casey to Denver will sting a bit so to replace him, they take a sleeper out of TCU, someone who climbed up the draft boards late.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Denzel Mims, Wide Receiver

Aaron was throwing to Devante Adams and who else? Exactly, Mims gives Aaron another weapon outside of Devante Adams.

  31. San Francisco 49ers: Xavier McKinney, Safety

Other than Isaiah Simmons, Xavier is the next best safety in this class. He can provide versatility to Salah’s defense by playing outside corner, strong safety, free safety, and slot.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs: AJ Terrell, Cornerback

Kendall Fuller went back to Washington so the champions have a hole at corner. Here they take AJ Terrell, an underrated corner now due to his terrible performance in the national championship. He can hold up in man coverage and will feel an immediate need at corner.
