2019 NFL Mock Draft

2019 NFL Mock Draft

Thursday, April 25th will mark the first day of the 2019 NFL Draft. Since I began watching football, this could possibly be the most confusing NFL Draft I’ve ever thought about. This draft has many question mark players that NFL teams are high on and this draft will be filled with steals. With that being said, here is my 2019 NFL Mock draft. Remember, these selections are based on what I would do, not my predictions on what will happen.

  1. Arizona Cardinals: Nick Bosa, Edge

Although most people have Kyler Murray a lock for Arizona due to the hiring of Murray’s former recruiter Kliff Kingsbury, I’m not sold yet. The last time a college QB was selected #1 overall with 1 year starting under his belt was NFL MVP Cam Newton. He was a physical specimen and dominated the SEC where Kyler dominated a defenseless BIG 12. I say Arizona takes the little Bosa in Nick and never look back since he could possibly be the best player in this draft

  2. San Francisco: Josh Allen, Edge

With DeForest Buckner and Arik Armstead up the middle, San Francisco needs someone on the edge. Solomon Thomas has time to develop but why not take SEC defensive player of the year who accumulated 17 sacks his last year in school. This would be a perfect fit for a team who is in need of an edge.

  3. New York Jets: Quinnen Williams, DT

He’s the best DT prospect since Aaron Donald. That’s the reason.

  4. Oakland Raiders: Kyler Murray, QB

Standing at 5’9/5’10, Kyler may not fit the mold of a Gruden type QB. However, with Derek Carr underperforming with a large contract, it would be hard to pass up a fascinating prospect in Kyler. He could possibly change the franchise along with newly acquired Antonio Brown.

  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Devin White, LB

Losing Kwon Alexander to San Fran really hurt Tampa Bay so here, I have them taking the best MLB prospect in the draft. White is a hard hitting LB who can cover and run with any TE or RB in the league.

  6. New York Giants: Rashan Gary, DT/DE

The Giants haven’t had a quality pass rush in sometime and Gary would be an intriguing prospect. I know some people may have taken Dwayne Haskins, but I see the Giants as a rebuilding franchise who will be in the top 5 for draft picks next year, they could focus on a QB then or wait until their next pick.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: T.J Hockenson, TE

Jacksonville has no flaw on their defense, it was just a bad year for them. Reload and give your new quarterback, Nick Foles, a reliable blocker and pass catcher in Hockenson.

  8. Detroit Lions: Clelin Ferrell, DE

Detroit is losing their star DE in Ziggy Ansah so they should use this pick on one of the best DE prospects in this draft. Clelin played on a star studded line at Clemson. Although his stock dropped, I would still take him top 10.

  9. Buffalo Bills: D.K Metcalf, WR

Josh Allen didn’t have a horrible year considering he was a project QB. Buffalo needs to give him weapons on the outside so why not give him the most physically gifted WR we’ve seen since Julio. Most of these wide receivers in this draft struggle with separation along with N’Keal, D.K, and Hakeem so just give Josh Allen the WR that ran a 4.3 at 6’4.

  10. Denver Broncos: Andre Dillard, OT

Denver should focus on protecting Joe Flacco since they can’t seem to keep a QB from year to year. They could possibly aim for a QB later to sit under Joe Flacco for the next couple of years.

  11. Cincinnati Bengals: Dwayne Haskins, QB

Cincinnati is another bad year from being a rebuild team, so select the prototypical pocket passer in Dwayne to let him sit behind Andy for maybe a year. Take him and don’t look back from this selection.

  12. Green Bay Packers: Marquise Brown, WR

He is the cousin of Antonio Brown and he can run. He had 1318 yards with 10 TD’s at Oklahoma and he can be the replacement to Randall Cobb. Green Bay had a fantastic free agency with plugging holes on defense so they should give Aaron more weapons

  13. Miami Dolphins: Ed Oliver, DT

Ed was considered the #1 overall pick about a year ago but after his down year along with his small frame and antics, his stock dropped. Miami will go into the year with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB but I’m sure they are #TankingForTua.

  14. Atlanta Falcons: Christian Wilkins, DT

With Takk and Vic on the edge and Grady in the middle, Atlanta should look to pair Grady with a dominant run stopper and good pass rusher. Fill the hole on your defense with the best DT available.

  15. Washington Redskins: Brian Burns, DE

His stock has risen over the past weeks and he is one of the best DE’s available here. Washington could go QB here but I see them waiting until later to find their franchise QB. Brian could give solid production throughout his NFL career and is a great add on to Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen.

  16. Carolina Panthers: Greedy Williams, DB

Carolina did lose Julius Peppers to retirement but they did sign Bruce Irvin. I don’t see a pass rusher worth taking at 16 so instead of reaching, I say Carolina grabs the best corner in Greedy to pair him along side James Bradberry and Donte Jackson. This selection can give Carolina flexibility going into the next rounds.

  17. New York Giants: Daniel Jones, QB

I say the Giants address the QB situation now rather than wait until next year when Tua, Jake, and Justin are available. Giants take Daniel Jones, who is close to the Manning brothers and was coached by David Cutcliffe, who also coached Peyton and Eli in college. Daniel isn’t a big name QB that put up Heisman stats but he can be a great student and take over when Eli is done.

  18. Minnesota Vikings: Cody Ford, OG/OT

Cody protected Heisman winner Kyler Murray this past year and he did a great job. Vikings paid their star wideouts and their big name QB, now they need to protect him. Cody can bring the versatility upfront since he can play both tackle and guard.

  19. Tennessee Titans: Montez Sweat, Edge

Tennessee can load up here and fix their pass rushing need with Montez Sweat. With their secondary secured with Byard, Jackson, and Ryan, the Titans can add someone that will make their jobs easier.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Devin Bush, LB

After Ryan Shazier suffered the career ending injury, the Steelers have had trouble finding the new replacement. T.J Watt and Bud Dupree can command the outside, Devin Bush will add the coverage and speed they lost when Ryan went down.

  21. Seattle Seahawks: Byron Murphy, DB

The Seahawks just traded their best Defensive linemen today so I would say Seattle should take their replacement. However, when I think of Seattle, I think of the LOB and the fear they put into the opposing quarterbacks. It’s time to rebuild the LOB so they should start with Byron and Shaquill.

  22. Baltimore Ravens: N’Keal Harry, WR

The Ravens have had trouble drafting wide receivers in the past and they have a Quarterback who struggles with accuracy. N’Keal has a great catch radius with great hands and speed. Baltimore passed on D.J Moore and Calvin Ridley last year, this year they get it right.

  23. Houston Texans: Jonah Williams, OT

Houston’s offensive line is atrocious and Jonah will come in and fix that right away.

  24. Oakland Raiders: Josh Jacobs, RB

I can’t even tell you who the running back on the Raiders is. They have yet to sign Marshawn back so I say. start new and get the Alabama running back.

  25. Philadelphia Eagles: Deandre Baker, DB

Philadelphia has a strong front seven but the secondary can use some work. Deandre Baker can come in and be the number one corner right away. He didn’t test well but the film speaks for itself.

  26. Indianapolis Colts: Jawaan Taylor, OT

Indy found their anchor of the offensive line in last years draft along with the leader of their defense. I say Indy takes a good, young tackle to better the offensive line.

  27. Oakland Raiders: A.J Brown, WR

The Raiders should add another AB to the receiving core by taking A.J Brown. Antonio can’t be the only Target for newly acquired Kyler Murray. He was the best receiver at Ole Miss although his teammates physical appearance overshadows the stats.

  28. Los Angeles Chargers: Dexter Lawrence, DT/DE

The Chargers changed the way defense could be played by using safeties and corners. I say help out those safeties in the run game by grabbing a dominant run stopper in Dexter Lawrence.

  29. Kansas City Chiefs: Garrett Bradbury, C

Kansas City has a hole at the center position after the loss of Mitch Morse to Buffalo.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Drew Lock, QB

I think the Packers should look to find their Aaron Rodgers replacement now. They have the picks and there are a lot of quarterbacks in this draft that can sit behind Aaron and learn, Drew just so happened to fall to Green Bay.

  31. Los Angeles Rams: Nassir Adderly, DB

With the departure of Lamarcus Joyner to Oakland, the Rams have a hole at free safety. Nassir is a rangy, athletic safety who can be a great pro. He would also has the most dominant defensive player up front to help him in the secondary.

  32. New England Patriots: Noah Fant, TE

Rob Gronkowski’s retirement wasn’t a surprise due to his long history of major injuries so I say New England finds their next star TE. Noah is the most athletic TE in the draft and will thrive with Brady in New England.
