Top Moments from NBA 2k23 Summer League Opening Weekend

The first weekend at the NBA 2K23 Summer League is complete and basketball fans are excited to see what this next week of hoops will bring. The internet was was thrilled all weekend for the plays displayed out in Las Vegas Nevada, Here are some of the buzziest plays and moments from the Summer League Opening Weekend. 

Orlando Magics Paolo Banchero 360 dunk 

The No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero is already making an early statement on why he deserved to be picked first overall in this year's draft. After a 17-point performance in his Summer League debut against the Houston Rockets, The Duke made prodigy followed up with a 23-point performance to give the Magics a 94-92 double-OT victory. Banchero shot 6-of-15 from the floor and added six assists and six rebounds. However, the play that had the internet talking was in the first quarter where Banchero stole the ball and pulled out a 360 dunk going the other way. Currently, the Magics sit at 2-0 heading into week two of the summer league season. 

Minnesota Timberwolves Kevon Harris and-1 slam

There is no better feeling than drawing contact at the rim and converting the and-1 play but to do it on a dunk is impressive. Kevon Harris's dunk on Nuggets Matt Mitchell was heard all across the Twitter world. Harris went to Twitter and retweeted his monster jam with casket emojis implying that he put him to bed with that play. Harris finished the game with 13 points and last season for the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League he averaged 15.1 points. 

Mac Mcclung erupts for 22 points showing off insane playmaking ability

After a brief stint with the Los Angeles Lakers G League squad last season Mac Mcclung is back turning heads, this time with the defending NBA Champions Golden State Warriors. Mcclung went off for 22 points shooting 9-of -15 collecting six rebounds and six assists in the Warriors' 86-85 win against the San Antonio Spurs. Twitter called his performance last night the Mcclung show as he kept dazzling the crowd with his crazy finishes at the rim and show-time-like behind-the-back pass to Jarod Uthoff for a slam. 

JT Thor's game-winner gives Hornets their first summer League win in two years

The Charlotte Hornets got their first Summer League win Sunday for the first time since July 2019, after a game-winner from JT Thor put the Hornets on top 89-86 in double OT. Thor the second-year player from Auburn finished the game with 12 points and three rebounds along with the game-winning dagger in sudden death. With James Bouknight and Lamelo Ball out with injury, the Hornets look to keep the momentum going heading into week two.
